Learn About Our Services
Upstate Chimney Professionals can address all your chimney needs. Below is a list of our most common services, however if you have any questions about additional services please feel free to give us a call.

Inspections and Cleanings
Chimneys require annual inspection and cleanings as needed. Customers can trust Upstate Chimney Professionals to complete a thorough inspection, provide detailed reports, recommendations, and education on safety and use. Upstate Chimney utilizes modern sweeping technology with a powered rotary system to sweep from the bottom in majority of cases, allowing customers to get their annual cleanings any time of year in any weather. Dust control is provided to keep your home clean during the process. Customers within our service area can expect to pay $150 plus tax for their first inspection, and $50 for any additional flues in the home. Cleanings are $225 plus tax including inspection, and $100 for any additional flue cleanings in the home.

Masonry Repair
Upstate Chimney Professionals specializes in masonry repair of brick chimneys and hearths. Deteriorating mortar joints over time is common- that doesn't mean the chimney needs to be torn down and re-layed in most cases! Contact Upstate Chimney for an estimate on repointing repair to bring your brick and mortar back to life and structurally sound.

Resurfacing
Many chimneys that have been previously surfaced over time develop cracks and flaking. Many bare block chimneys face rapid deterioration. Upstate Chimney Professionals can fix these issues by resurfacing your chimney the right way, by underlaying metal mesh lath and applying texturized surface bonding cement (in your choice of color!).

Flashing Repair
A lot of times, leaks come from deterioration in the flashing where the chimney meets the roof. A viable and less expensive way to fix this issue without ripping up shingles is a tri-layer Chimney Saver Flash Seal application. Customers can expect a typical flash seal repair on their chimney to cost $200-$400, versus the typical cost of replacing and resealing existing flashing and shingles, which can be $500-$1000.

Caps
Did you know every chimney, whether in use or not, should have a cap? This is because flues without caps invite critters into your home, and rain to deteriorate your masonry from the inside out. Upstate Chimney Professionals provides quality cap installs with a lifetime warranty. Caps come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors- totally customizable to suit your needs.

Liners
Stainless steal flue liners are the new standard when it comes to chimney venting systems. Most chimneys servicing today's appliances require it. Upgrading to a steel liner will improve draft, lessen heat transfer, sweep cleaner and easier, and bypass any cracks, spalling, or deteriorating masonry flues that would otherwise make the chimney nonfunctional. Liners come with a lifetime warranty and are tax exempt as they qualify as capital improvement. They increase the value of your home (and home inspectors like to see them too!). Upstate Chimney Professionals can help you with deciding if a liner is right for you, and provide an estimate for installation.

Waterproofing
A well-built chimney can last for many years, but you need to put the work into maintaining your chimney for a long life. In Upstate New York, we know a thing or two about the outside elements! Waterproofing your chimney can keep moisture from damaging your masonry over time. A few hundred bucks well spent on waterproofing today can save you a few thousand in masonry repairs in the future.
